During class

One approach that has been proven effective is called the Cornell note-taking system. Here are some of its methods. Start by using the main section of your page to take down your notes during class. Be sure to leave space on the left side of the page and the bottom. Things to keep in mind:

1.   Get the speakers main points. Don’t write down every word you hear.

2.   Leave blanks in your notes to add explanations later.

3.   Organize as you write. Pay attention to cures such as repetition and emphasis

4. Indicate main & supporting points as you go.

5. Jot down key vocabulary, important facts & formulas,

6. Ask questions. If you’re confused, its better to ask while the material is fresh in your mind.

Is it ok to fight? Well it depends in some cases. Like for example, you don’t have to fight physically but by speaking. If you think something is wrong you should stand up for what you do think is right and speak out loud. But in physical cases there does come point where you shouldn't let yourself and fight back.

Most of the communication, as well as the course work, in distance-learning classes are written. That’s a plus, because the focus on the written word gives you the opportunity to develop as a writer—and strong writing skills are essential to academic success. However, if writing is a serious weakness for you, virtual learning may not be the best educational option until you improve your skills. Yes, most of best distance education is the written word; therefore, you need to be a good reader, love to read, and love writing also. Most of your assignments will be written and submitted to the instructor in the written format. Your penmanship needs to be excellent, spelling great, sentence structure above average, vocabulary extraordinary. You need to have online access with reliable equipment. If your Internet communications at home isn’t working, you can’t do online education from home and will need to go to someplace where you do have access to the Internet.

Decide Whether It's Right for You
Distance Education isn’t for everyone, but it might be for you. You really should talk to seek it out and give it a try. You never know until you try. You might even fall in love with distance education. While distance education may be perfect alternative for some students, it's not the right choice for everyone. So carefully consider your unique needs & interest & give distance education a try; then, decide if its right for you.

I think this quote means that what you do in the present as in right now in this very moment will reflect on your future. For example if you are doing all your work in class you will pass and in the future you could get scholarships for receiving G.P.A.’s of 4.0. But if you are ditching and/or not doing work and failing your classes, your G.P.A. will be low. Therefore, you will probably not be accepted to the good colleges or universities.

Challenging Aspects of Distance Education

vLack of in-person interaction: Some educators argue that both teacher-student & student-student contact are essential to learning. In a distance-learning classroom, you may be able to participate in class discussions  in chat rooms, message boards or Web conferences – but its not the same as being with other students in a classroom.

v Different levels of quality: Many distance-education programs supply an excellent learning experience, but others may not. Researcher any program before signing on to make sure its rigorous enough. If you are choosing your own program, look into its accreditation before enrolling.

v The need to self-start: Distance education lets you make your own schedules. If you have a hard time getting motivated, this might not be the idea educational setting for you

 We all have an inside and an outside. Everyone has an inside, but we can only see the outside, the physical. So when you have a statement like this, I believe it is trying to say that what is inside us, or within us, is more important than anything on the outside or around us. What lies within us is more powerful and stronger and smarter than what we think. What we feel and our thoughts and our feelings are nothing when compared to actions and actual doing. We can do and say things but what would really matter at the end is what we feel, what lies within us.

Positive Aspects of Distance education

• § Independence and time management: Taking courses online lets you hone your ability to work on your own. You also gain experiences in managing your time efficiently.
• § A flexible schedule: Schools can only provide a certain number of class periods in a single school day, and there may not be enough time for you to take everything you want. Because distance education lets you take classes outside regular school hours, it gives you the flexibility to explore all your areas of interest.
• Advanced & specialized classes: Some schools can’t provide advanced or specialized. Distance education gives you the change to gain experience in areas that would otherwise remain out of reach.
