Student Success Statement

“ I think it better to do right, even if we suffer in so doing, than to incur the reproach of our consciences & posterity.”

What I understand from this quote is that it is saying that at times we should do what is right even if there will be consequences that we might not like or that are bad. Suppose you must save someone from a fire, should you do it? Yes, you should because you were choosing the right. But there could be some consequences like injuring yourself. But if you have to chance  to save someone , why not do it.

For Review

Once you've done all of the above, you’ll find you've created your own personalized study guide. Cover the main section of the page & use the key words & questions in the left margin as a quiz.

Stick to It

Review your notes the day them & all your notes once a week. That way, you need to study as much when its test time. You’ve been doing the work all along. Try out the Cornell  system, but if it doesn’t work for you, experiment w/ other methods. Ask you classmates how they tak notes or ask a teacher for advice. Taking good notes requires practice, like any other skill. And the more you work at it now, the more prepared you’ll  be to take notes in college.

After Class
As soon as class ends, review your notes and fill in any blanks.
Underline, highlight and use symbols to sort through the information. If you don’t understand something, get help from your teacher or classmates.
After you’ve reviewed all your notes from class, in the left-hand area of the page written down key words and questions your teacher might ask on a test.
At the bottom of each page, write a summary of the notes. This helps you digest what you’ve learned. It also improves your memory of the material for the long term for the tests down the road.

“He listens well who takes note.”

~ Dante Alighieri

I think this quote means that when you are paying attention to someone the speaker notices. Because you could see in your eyes how you are interested. For example if you are in class and the teacher is talking about a lesson and you are looking at something else to talking the teacher can tell right away.
